I am very excited to show you all my newest creations!  I am making hand-sewn band boxes with reproductions of early fabrics circa 1800-1870's.  Most of the boxes are from the civil war period but I will be making some in earlier era fabrics as well.  This first box is my absolute favorite.  George Washington to me is the greatest man this side of heaven!  He has been my earthly hero since I was a very small child.  The fabric I have used on this box is circa 1810 and is called "Washington's Legacy".  It is rich browns and blues with his picture hand sewn on the lid.  All of my boxes are lined with reproductions of old newspapers such as Harper's Weekly or earlier papers.  This is an oval box and is approximately 9 inches across the long oval top and is 6 inches tall.  I can also make these boxes round or square.  The George Washington box is $55.00 plus shipping and handling.
These next two boxes are of General Lee and General Grant.  They are both 8 inches in diameter and 5 inches tall.  General Grant is lined on the inside with copies from Harper's Weekly newspaper and show scenes from Lincoln's inauguration.  General Lee is lined on the inside with maps of the south and a very nice picture of him on the inside of the lid.  Lee's material is civil war era fabric called "Harper's Ferry"  in gray.  Grant's fabric is also a civil war fabric called "Indigo Crossing".  Each box is $50.00 each plus shipping and handling.

Here is a larger round box that I made from Civil War era fabric with a blue leaf pattern.  The box is 81/2 inches in diameter and is 7 inches tall.  The inside is lined with a pretty bird looking motif in black and parchment colors.  The cost for this box is $55.00 plus shipping and handling.
